After
buying a new Cricut Maker 3 machine, you will need to set it up with your
computer or mobile device. So before you learn how to use a Cricut Maker 3, you need to set up the machine.
Follow
the directions given below to set up the Maker 3 cutting machine:
- First, unbox your machine and place it over
a flat surface.
- After that, you have to connect its plug to
the power source.
- Now, connect your cutting machine and the
computer device using a USB cable or Bluetooth.
- After establishing the connection, you will
need to visit Cricut’s official website to download and install the Cricut
software (Cricut Design Space).
- Post this, you will notice a new Machine Setup window.
- Then, select the Cricut Maker 3 to begin the
setup.
- Further, you will need to rely on
the directions given on your computer’s screen. Follow each step carefully
to proceed.
- Finally, you are ready to use
Cricut Maker 3 for multiple projects.
How to Use a Cricut Maker 3 for Creating
Coasters?
You
might be feeling overwhelmed to learn to use a Cricut Maker 3. Right? Well, I understand this feeling. I was also too overwhelmed when I
first unboxed my Cricut Maker 3. Anyway!
Do
you have any idea what I am supposed to make with my trust Maker 3? Well, this
is nothing but simple leather coasters. Yes, you can use it at your work or
study table. This is really going to be a very useful beginner-friendly Cricut Maker 3 project. Let’s dive into
it!
Step 1: Gather All the Cricut Maker 3

below is the list of supplies that you need to gather before making leather
coasters:

Step 2: Create a Coaster Shape
Launch
the Design Space and create a new project. The size of my coaster is 3.75 to
3.75 inches square. However, you can choose any shape you like. To add the
shapes, go to the Shapes or images
in the left toolbar.
Now,
I will want to add some text to my leather coaster. To add the text, go to the Text button. Then, add the texts you
want and choose the font style and size as per your choice.
Before
you proceed, go to the Linotype
(Operation) option given at the top of the toolbar and change the line type
from Cut to Engrave or Deboss.
Next,
you need to select your text and shape and then hit the Align and Centre option from the top toolbar. After aligning them into the
center, you have to click on the Attach button
given at the left lower corner. Now, hit the Make It > Continue button.
Step 3: Select the Material from the List
Here,
you will have to select your materials. If you can’t find your desired
material, then you will need to click on
Browse All Materials to find a suitable material. After that, you will be
prompted to move the white star wheels to
the right side. This is very important if you don’t want to ruin your leather.
Step 4: Place Your Leather on the Cutting Mat
Place
your leather material onto your Strong
Grip mat and smooth it out.
Step 5: Cut Your Material (Leather)
Now,
simply load the mat onto your Cricut Maker 3 machine and press the Go button.
Here,
your Maker 3 machine will first engrave/deboss the design. Afterward, you will
need to change the blade to cut it out. For this, just follow the directions on
your screen.
After
cutting, just unload the mat and take out your coasters! Here are my final
leather coasters made with Cricut Maker 3.

upload your content.

can work without a mat. Therefore, you can simply put your Smart Vinyl, Smart
Iron-On, or Smart Paper into the cutting machine, and then it will pull it
through and finally cut it.
